Friday Five, vol. 6

Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea culpa.

I realize I have been delinquent in my Friday Fives. So, maybe, this will be a more random thing. Who knows?

We’re growing. We’re evolving.

Gotta stay on our toes, ya know.

OK, so in no particular order…

#1.  I am a very big proponent of coffee creamer.  Yes, I understand there are “healthier” ways to drink coffee and make it tasty.  No, I don’t care.  And sure, some people (ahem…my dad) would say that unless you drink it black, it’s not really coffee.  Whatever.  They can have their black dirt water.  I choose to treat myself nicely.

#2.  I absolutely love thunderstorms.  Call it my Midwestern roots showing, but one of the highlights of Floridian summers for me is when a great big storm just spins up out of nowhere.  Give me all the lightning and thunder and rain you want.  I’ll either be watching a movie with the kids, snug in our safe family room or I’ll be standing on our screened in back porch watching the show.  Side note:  I love our cul-de-sac neighborhood.  It’s pretty fantastic.

#3.  Would you look at the label on this wine bottle?!  It was a birthday gift from my dear friend, Regina.  She is seriously one of the most creative people I know and I bow down to her sewing and craftiness.  I have no idea how she did this, but I love it and think it’s absolutely beautiful.  Thanks, Regina!!

#4.  Confession time.  I love kids and I love cooking, but I do not love teaching my kids to cook.  That’s why this picture is so amazing.  You may think it’s just a really cute picture of my daughter making these tasty corn dog muffins, but no!  It’s a picture of me and my daughter getting along while she makes dinner completely on her own because the recipe was so easy!!  SCORE!

#5.  Swim team is awesome and swim meets are wonderful.  I honestly don’t know what our summers would be like without swim team practices and meets.  We get amazing family time.  The kids learn A+ life skills like swimming and independence and friendship and teamwork and sportsmanship.  Plus, the little bitty ones look super cute in their suits and caps.

So there you have it.  Another extra special glimpse into our wild and crazy life.  Happy 4th of July weekend, y’all!  Stay safe and have fun!
