Advent Music
I have been listening to this constantly this Advent! Some very modern, some very traditional, all beautiful. Shawn Colvin’s “In the Bleak Midwinter” and anything by the Benedictines of Mary top my list of favorites.
Sacred Christmas
This one is still a work in progress as I continue to add songs that I like. It has some traditional favorites, like pieces from Handel’s Messiah, but then I threw the Barenaked Ladies in there just to spice things up a bit. And if you haven’t heard the Christmas albums by Leslie Odom, Jr. and Johnnyswim, you’re missing out.
Christmas Fun
OK, this one is just pure Christmas cheer. It’s just a great big symphony of silliness, sentimentality, and traditions new and old. And, I have to admit, this one is my kids’ favorite.
