Is this your first year cooking a Thanksgiving turkey? Does the idea of getting dinner on the table, Thanksgiving or otherwise, make you break out in hives? Do slumpy pie crusts make you angry? Would you like to hear two middle aged, midwestern moms of four talk food and family for 45 minutes? Then today’s episode of the A Welcome Grade Podcast is for you, my friend! Sit back, relax, have a pen and paper at the ready, because Marie Fiebach and I are about to blow your Thanksgiving minds with our tips and tricks to save the day.
Who is Marie?
Marie Fiebach is a wife and mom of four teenagers from Kansas. In 2017 she founded Feed Your Family Tonight to help busy families eat dinner together at home and recapture a little calm in the crazy. She is a cookbook author, podcaster, and has a weekly cooking segment on her local ABC affiliate. Marie knows how hard it is to get dinner on the table whether you are working until 6:00, running kids to after-school activities, or chasing toddlers all day. She has dealt with picky eaters, food allergies, and busy schedules but still manages to feed her family a home-cooked meal almost every night. And, she wants to help you do the same.
Thanksgiving Pro-Tips & Feeding Your Family
“Help! I’ve never cooked a turkey before!”
“How do you know what sides to make ahead of time and which ones to make on Thanksgiving?”
“Am I supposed to bring food already cooked and ready to go or cook them once I’m actually at the potluck?”
These are just some of the questions from listeners that Marie and I tackle in today’s episode. Who knew two regular ol’ moms could have such emphatic feelings or laugh so much about these topics?
Other pro-tips and topics we cover today include:
- Why family dinners are so important.
- How planning can save your ever-loving life when trying to pull off a dinner of such magnitude.
- What can happen when following your dreams leads to an amazing opportunity to do what you love.
Truly, even if you aren’t the head chef for your family’s Thanksgiving feast, I think you’re going to enjoy today’s episode. And who know? You might just learn something in the process.
