Hello, loves!! My name is Beth and I’m thrilled that you’re here!
Welcome, welcome, welcome!! Thank you so much for stopping by my little corner of the interwebs! I’m so glad you’re here and I hope we’ll soon be good blog-friends.
So, please grab a cup of coffee or tea or, heck, whatever you’d like. Let’s sit down and have a chat, shall we? Let me tell you a little bit about myself to break the ice…
My Background
I’m a cradle Catholic and a product of both Catholic schools and the Midwest. My large family was a pivotal part of my growing up and, when I say large, I mean large. Both of my parents are one of seven kids and there are 15 grandkids on my mom’s side of the family and 20 on my dad’s side. My mom and my grandmother taught me through example how to graciously open my home to feed the masses casually and economically and that the people you gather close are infinitely more important than the things you acquire or the mess they might make.
I attended St. Mary-of-the-Woods College just outside of Terre Haute, IN where I majored in Elementary Education and had an unofficial minor in vocal music. I say unofficial because, while it is technically true and not on my transcripts, I spent every bit as much time in chorus, Madrigals, voice lessons, and on the stage as I did in any education classes. And, honestly, I am still using both of those experiences today as I raise our four kids and participate in the music ministry at our parish.
My Better Half
So, way back in the 1900s (as my kids love to say), when I was a freshman at SMWC, I met this fella named Greg. After a crazy awkward initial meeting, these two kids hit it off and started dating. We got married on June 19, 1999 and have been together as a couple considerably longer than we were single. We truly have grown up together and I wouldn’t have it any other way. He’s the steady to my waver, the strength to my weakness, the right brain to my left, the head to my heart, the science to my arts. And, just between you and me, he’s got a pretty cute backside.
The Best Family in the Whole Wide World
So, here we were as of Summer 2020. All dolled up and coordinating and Christmas-card ready…if Christmas is at the beach.
But here we are on any given afternoon in my minivan. MUCH more accurate!
Our four amazing blessings from God are Adam, Josh, Leah, and Lucy. They range in age from college to primary school. Because of these four goobers, my life is fuller, my heart is bigger, my bank account is lower, and my hair is grayer.
My Current Situation
So, right now, what does my life look like? I’m a SAHM to these fantabulous kiddos and wife to my hardworking husband. In addition to that, I volunteer at the public schools my kids attend here in our little corner of northeast Florida. I sing in the music ministry at church, solo at weddings and funerals, and do other fun things with music when the opportunity arises. I served as a regular blog contributor for Blessed is She, I entertain large crowds for holidays, and love to meet friends for coffee or lunch. Last but not least, I do a buttload of laundry, grocery shop off of a list, menu plan by the week and the month, love to stretch a meal, and would eat chocolate every single day if given the chance.
Thanks for stopping by! Kick your shoes off, look around, and make yourself at home.
